The scholarship program most relevant to Slovenian candidates is Future of Big Data by a London hedge fund. The fund requires a prior background in a quantitative field such as science, computer science, mathematics, engineering, economics etc – and they will consider hiring the recipients if they do well in the program, so the ideal candidates are relatively early stage who can be moulded to work for a hedge fund.
The NASDAQ scholarships have no restrictions other than the candidates having to come from emerging markets – the one thing to bear in mind is that EU nationals do not qualify even if their home countries remain regarded as emerging markets, because they already have access to quality education across the entire EU.
