2nd Regional stakeholder meeting in frame of project “Danube4SEecosystem” in Slovenia

In the framework of the second meeting of stakeholders at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics and Business, the emphasis was on the presentation of good practices in the field of social economy in the local environment and the Danube region, as well as examples of local public administration support for social economy entities.

As part of the panel, the participants of the meeting discussed the importance of the selected priorities for the development of the social economy in the Danube region. Above all, increasing the visibility of the social economy, strengthening cooperation between social economy entities and local public authorities, and connecting the goals of the social economy with the goals of sustainable development were highlighted as key priorities.

In an open discussion, the participants of the meeting defined the starting points for the development of local action plans on the basis of the selected priorities and defined the necessary actions and tasks for the realization of the selected priorities. As fundamental starting points were emphasized (1) ensuring equal treatment of social economy subjects, compared to profit-oriented companies; (2) measuring the effects of social economy entities on the wider society; and (3) increasing the active role of local public administration in supporting social economy entities.
