Danube4SEecosystem Seminar & Study Visit – Maribor, Slovenia (20–21 May 2025)

On 20 May 2025, project partners attended the Project seminar and partners meeting in Maribor, Slovenia, hosted by the University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics and Business. The event brought together representatives from all partner countries and included expert presentations, strategic discussions, and networking activities.

The seminar featured opening remarks by Prof. dr. Zlatko NEDELKO, project manager (University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics and Business).
Assoc. prof. dr. Alenka Slavec Gomezel (University of Ljubljana, School of Economics and Business) emphasized characteristics of a supportive environment for social enterprises from the @Danube region and national perspectives. Jan Peloza, MBA (executive director, Impact Hub Ljubljana) presented the support environment for social enterprises from the viewpoint of an organization that accelerates social entrepreneurship. Gregor Levic (president of the Network of Social Entrepreneur Organizations) and Nuša Lešnik (Tourist agency “Sončni vzhod”) shared practical experiences from the field regarding supporting social entrepreneurship on a regional and local level.

The agenda also included a partner's meeting, where the focus was on an overview of project progress and planning for upcoming activities. SCOM meeting was also held.

The event successfully fostered knowledge exchange, strengthened partnerships, and supported progress towards the project's strategic goals in the Danube region.

 

On 21 May 2025, the second day of the Danube4SEecosystem D4SEE Seminar & Study Visit in Maribor, Slovenia, hosted by University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics and business, we immersed ourselves in real-life examples of sustainable and socially inclusive practices:

A visit to Korenika Social Farm in Šalovci, where organic farming empowers vulnerable groups and strengthens the local community.

A deep dive into innovation at the Kreator Lab at CITILAB, a creative space for makers, thinkers, and social entrepreneurs.
A meeting with Cooperative Dobrina, championing local supply chains and ethical food production.

A truly inspiring day filled with ideas and partnerships for a greener, fairer future!
