Extension of Study Exchange

Would you like to extend for another 1 semester, but you don't know if it's even possible or how to do it? Look into the process of extending the study exchange!

1. Step

First, it is necessary to check with the host institution whether they allow the extension of the study exchange and what the procedure is at their institution. It is essential to inquire whether we need to re-nominate you at the host institution and whether it is necessary to initiate the entire application process again or not.

2. Step

Once you receive a response from the host institution, it is necessary to contact the International Relations Office at FEB and inform us that you wish to extend your exchange. At the same time, please provide us with all the information from the host institution regarding the extension procedure so that we can start preparing all the necessary documentation.

3. Step

You need to contact your Head of Study Field again and agree on the selection of courses you will take abroad, obtaining their approval for the recognition of the chosen courses. Upon receiving verbal or written confirmation from your Head of Study Field, you need to submit completed Form 2 to the International Relations Office at FEB, and in the case of preparing a thesis, also Form 4.

4. Step

Upon receiving the signed Form 2 and/or Form 4, a new Learning Agreement or Online Learning Agreement is prepared. Students must inquire at the host institution whether a new agreement is being prepared or if the "Exceptional Changes During Mobility" section is supposed to be filled out, where we can also add new courses from the next semester. In most cases, a new Learning Agreement or Online Learning Agreement is prepared and approved.

5. Step

Students need to reapply through the studentexchange online platform in order to apply for Erasmus+ financial support (for the University of Maribor, it is necessary to submit documentation again, just like for the 1 semester). After you resubmit your documentation you will receive your Erasmus+ financial support for the 2 semester

At this point, the extension process concludes, and students can once again focus on fully enjoying their extended study exchange!

NOTE: The extension process needs to be initiated in a timely manner to allow for the preparation of all necessary documentation!
