Go Global Portugal

Olá queridos alunos,

In the month of November, under the auspices of the FEB International Relations Office, the Go Global event took place. Foreign students Diana, Ines, Eva, Matilde and FEB students Lucija and Davor presented one of the most desirable countries for study exchange, Portugal.

In the introductory part, the foreign students presented the different universities they come from, Diana presented the University of Minho (Universidade do Minho), Ines presented FEP – School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto (Faculdade de Economia da Universidade do Porto) students Eva and Matilde presented the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (Politécnico de Lisboa). The FEB students completed part of their study obligations at ISCTE - University Institute of Lisbon (Instituto Universitário de Lisboa). The University of Minho is a public university located northeast of Porto and has a total of 4 campuses, three of which are located in the city of Braga and one campus located in the neighboring city of Guimarães. The entire Minho region, where the university is located, is known for being a very vibrant region with a large proportion of the population being young, so the university also has a diverse student culture on its campuses. On the campuses, students have everything they need - from cafés, restaurants, playgrounds and many different interest clubs, which ensure that both domestic and foreign students are maximally integrated into student life at the university.

As the name suggests, FEP – School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto is located in the fourth-largest city and one of the most recognizable cities in Portugal, Porto. The entire University of Porto is located in 3 different locations or campuses, where students have access to various cafés, restaurants and clubs of interest. They can improve their academic knowledge and at the same time treat themselves to a glass of good wine, for which Porto is also world-famous. The Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon is a university located in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. It is one of the largest polytechnic schools in Portugal, which consists of a total of 8 institutes or schools. Like the aforementioned universities, the latter also has its own campuses where students can find a variety of extracurricular activities.

The students also presented life in Portugal, the cost of living, customs, tricks and habits, and finally they took us on a culinary tour of different regions in Portugal. FEB students, Davor and Lucija, who spent part of their 1st year of postgraduate studies at the ISCTE - University Institute of Lisbon, also presented their experience in Portugal.

ISCTE - University Institute of Lisbon is a university also located in the capital Lisbon. ISCTE is known for being one of the best schools in Europe, which has a strong emphasis on connecting theoretical knowledge with practical knowledge. The university is made up of 4 different schools, which are attended by more than 10,000 students, where about a fifth of them come from 80 different countries around the world, which certainly adds a touch of multiculturalism and internationality to the university. As already mentioned several times, this university also has its own campus, where you can always meet new young people from all over the world, take part in various activities and hobbies you may have, or devote yourself entirely to acquiring new academic skills.

At the end of the event, the students had the opportunity to try typical Portuguese food prepared by the Cantante restaurant.
