STATEMENT ON SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY OF THE FACULTY OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS, UNIVERSITY OF MARIBOR

At the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Maribor, we are deeply committed to social responsibility and sustainable development across all areas of our activity. We strive to fulfil our mission in accordance with the evolving needs of society and the environment. Through this Statement on Social Responsibility, we articulate our commitments and objectives in this domain.

Our dedication to social responsibility is grounded in the following key principles: education for sustainable development, environmental responsibility, and engagement with the wider community.

The education of our students is rooted in the principles of sustainable development and aims to prepare them for the challenges faced by the modern economy. We actively promote research in the field of sustainable management and seek to transfer this knowledge into practice.

We recognise the environmental impact of our activities and are committed to reducing negative effects while fostering sustainable practices. We support energy efficiency, the reduction of resource consumption, waste separation, and the promotion of sustainable mobility among all faculty members.

We actively collaborate with the local community and the economy to contribute to their development, as well as with the broader society, including on an international level. Through partnerships and projects, we aim to facilitate knowledge transfer, encourage innovation, and generate positive social impact.

We are committed to the continuous improvement of our operations and practices in line with the principles of social responsibility. We believe that social responsibility constitutes a fundamental element of our institutional identity and that, together with our stakeholders – students, employees, partners, and the wider community – we can generate positive societal change.
